Avalanche

In the Snowmass Backcountry, observed multiple avalanches on East facing terrain at 11,300 ft. with 2-4 ft high crowns, 100-200 ft wide. Debris was visible all the way down to the bottom of the valley. Unsure if the slides went during the storm or the night following the storm, but bed surface was clearly visible. Some ground was visible in the bed surface but mostly looked like the slides broke in the old snow on a persistent weak layer. The slides were possibly triggered by a cornice fall, or may have been naturals. Also probable that the multiple slides were sympathetic. Many long fractures and cracks where there were no slides, like across more southerly faces.
