Dug a quick pit at the top and did a test. No results. Temperature was -5 at the top and the wind was very strong. Conditions above about 1700m were very different than below. Below 1700m, the snow is crusty in the sun and under trees, and there is surface hoar in the shade not directly below trees. Above 1700m, the snow was not crusty or heavy, it seemed stable and consistent. Surface hoar was forming in areas not wind-affected.
