Snowpack
We dug on SE and S around 11,800'. Even in somewhat exposed locations, 1-2 cm Surface Hoar was still widespread and observed on top of a 2cm Pencil hard crust on solar aspects. Out pit location did not yield much in terms of results despite poor snowpack structure. We observed one collapse while lower down in the trees. We watched a half dozen people ski, steep, NE facing terrain that I would guess consisted of wind slab on top of facets (yikes). Was hoping to see some better travel techniques but we observed multiple parties stopping half way down the slope to take pictures or not stopping in actual safe zones.
