Snowpack

On the north aspect, the snowpack is 75 cm, weak, and faceted throughout. It seems that this snowpack has difficulty propagating cracks along the weak layer (ECTN13). On the west aspect, the depth varies from less than 50 cm to about 70 cm. The snowpack on this aspect has several crust layers with facet layers between them. The most pronounced crust layer is 2 cm thick, and it sits above the most reactive layer in stability tests. Still, this crust/weak layer combo is not enough for crack propagation (ECTN21).
