Snowpack

Shooting cracks up to 50 feet long from skis. Large scale collapsing and obvious signs of propagation with shooting cracks that would travel in all directions from skin track even on very low angle terrain (<15 degrees). Snow pack was 80cm deep. 50cm of new storm snow on top of 30cm of facets. No crust of any sort was present. Dug a pit- CT3, PST 25/100 (end) at storm snow/facet interface and PST 15/100 (end) at facet/ground interface. , ECTX - I was really surprised that an ECT didn’t produce a result. I tried 3 times and there was no propagation. The storm snow and facets would just compression on top of each other
