Weather

6" of new snow at 8 AM down by Sultan Creek where we stayed. Rec trip to Sam's Trees. About 4 to 6" of new snow up there with no wind. Mostly cloudy with a few breaks of sun. The new snow didn't do much to change stability where we traveled.

Snowpack

No obvious signs of instability noted. Pole probing on southeast revealed a weak and relatively thin snowpack. A melt-freeze crust is buried shallowly on east and southeast-facing slopes. Faceted snow is very weak below this crust, yet the crust is supportable to skis.
