Snowpack

The snowpack was pretty touchy on southeast aspects near treeline where I traveled. I was able to remotely trigger an avalanche from 50-100' away. This avalanche triggered a smaller, sympathetic slide as well. The avalanche failed on facets just above an old, decomposing melt-freeze crust about 20cm above the ground. Lots of cracking and collapsing on slopes that weren't as steep.
