Travelled through to 'Camels Hump' on simple and below tree-line terrain. Dug a quick pit on a north facing slope to see how far the touchy mid-Jan surface hoar is buried. See attached photo. Mid-January surface hoar sitting 70-80 cm below surface, sitting on Jan 6th surface hoar an additional 30 cm down, and 100cm+ down is 20-30 cm of facet.
