Massive whoomps and shooting cracks almost every 50 ms or so skinning up summit creek. The cracks would shoot 10- 15m around the skier breaking trail. We had one massive crack that was triggered skiing down past a small wind loaded cornice that was about 30 cms deep and extended 5-10 m around the top of the cornice. We would have felt incredibly uncomfortably on anything steeper, but the slope angles on summit creek are so low that nothing could really slide on us. We skied about 5-15 cms of non-wind affected powder on top of a soft crust. Skiing was fun, total bluebird, with no wind for most of the day. Gentle breeze from NE started in afternoon. Temp was -16 at 1000 am and warmed up to -8 by late afternoon.
