A group of four went for a morning ski at Corbin's Pass. It was calm when we left the brake check at 8 am, but the winds started picking up about an hour later while skinning up the logging road. The wind effect was noticeable as we entered the cutblocks at around 1400m, but the snow was fine through the trees. We reached the mining road around 1650m and got a report from another skier of strong winds at ridge top. We decided to transition there instead of climbing higher. The ski down the main skier's right gully was fantastic, with great snow and solid coverage right to the exit at 1000m. We probably should have done another lap, but instead we drive back to town in time for lunch. We were worried about the warm weather today but the forecast of higher freezing levels doesn't seem to have materialized and it's snowing in Revelstoke as I write this at 230pm.
