Evening ski up Mount Seymour found us in a winter wonderland and the driest powder I’ve ever experience on the NS. However, significant storm loading on 3 weak layers each consecutively about 30cm down made for some touchy conditions. We took a snow profile and each layer failed very easily. These observations were taken at about 1300m half way up to Pump Peak, south aspect.
Snowpack
Three weak layers each consecutively 30cm down. Each one failed very easily. We observed two rain crust layers and the middle layer looked like it developed from a hail storm.
