Upper Dewey Lake cabin hike

Reporting this on behalf of friends who tried to snowshoe up to the Upper Dewey Lake cabin on Saturday. Navigation was hard because the trail was completely buried by new snow. Getting close to tree line they experiences loud whumfing and could feel/see the snowpack collapsing around them. They estimate they were about 30 minutes from the cabin at that point. For the record, they turned around and went back to town for the night.
