Highmark Season

Knowing your orientation to the sun is everything on days like today. While south and west faces quickly grew unstable in the afternoon sun, northerly faces were great for highmarking! We avoided putting in highmarks underneath cornices but otherwise felt confident riding in steep complex terrain with the current snowpack conditions on north aspects this afternoon. We saw no new avalanches but several ones from the last few days triggered by the week-long warm spell.
