Got into the alpine to ski video peak and observe the temps. Direct steep solar faces warmed up with the sun which effect the top 2-3cm of snow with snow underneath staying cold. Snow on everything besides south aspects was riding really nicely with not much effect from the rising temps. Dug a pit on a north aspect on Balu pass/Cheops before heading out. Overall great sunny day of skiing!

Snowpack

@14:35 air -3.0, T10 -8.5, surface new snow. ECTX CTH24 RP down 35 on surface hoar sz .5 - 1 CTH29 SP down 90 on early Nov crust in facets. Outside the pit we observed surface hoar growth on S asp up to tree line size 1-2

Avalanche

Observed a natural size 1 in STS chute on Cheops on the Lee slope about 50 meters below the cornice. Probably happened the day Dec 1.
