Had a wonderful time up Begbie Shoulder. There's a near-surface crust up to 1,000m that made for a heinous ski out. Above that, the snow was fantastic, ranging from deep powder up high to more settled powder lower down. We saw no signs of instability, but also didn't push into any big terrain. I tried to produce a whumpf in the flat area at the top of the Shoulder, but was unsuccessful. It got progressively cloudier as we got higher and was snowing lightly from ridgetop (2,000m) all the way back down to the car (800m). The knitting needles will stay in the drawer.
