25 cm of fresh snow fell on top of thick surface hoar on Friday night into Saturday. Surface hoar sat on top of ~20 cm of snow from previous snowfall, which sat on top of January thaw/freeze crust. Only the top 25 cm of fresh snow slid. some hard turn would get down to the January crust, nothing else would slide. We bailed on the day and went home as avi conditions were easy to trigger.
