Went for a bit of exploration in the slack country. Found amazing boot top powder everywhere outside the boundary, but given avy hazard we didn’t ride anything steep enough to be actually ski, minus about 15 good turns off the backside of Standish. Dug a pit there, HS around 85cm with the bottom being the nicely faceted section. Column test failed after 3 shoulder taps straight on the ground. 2mm size facets down there. ECT didn’t fail at all, but we think that’s likely to be down to luck. Lots of whumpfing all day. -13 around noon, and the winds came in around that time.
