Snowpack
Snow had 6-8” of fresh storm snow on top of several layers of sun/wind effected layers. Noticed surface cracks along wind drifted areas near ridge line and saw evidence of larger slides along upper head walls above tree line. Snow felt punchy and firm under new storm snow but wind drifted pockets near the skin track were at times over 100cm. Column test resulted in a failure breaking at 10cm with ECT 7 on a weak faceted layer (probably early October persistent layer).
