Wrapping up a week of ski touring at mallard lodge, in the west Rockies just north of Athabasca pass. Excellent skiing at and below tree line. We skied steep open slopes to 40 deg, during a week of generally snowy weather. We never did get into the alpine after the first day and suspect conditions may be different as moderate winds were noted-up high at different times over the week.

Pretty much cloudy and snowing every day since Feb 23. This limited our trips into the alpine and focussed on skiing at and below tree line.

Several pits and tests over the week. We had some graupel early in the week that though isolated was reactive today CTH 23 Rp, down 55cm on older surface. Measured 58cm of storm snow as of today. We did not find the mid Feb surface hoar here.

Ski cutting and skiing produced only sluffing to size one. Though observations were limited due to weather, there were a few loose slugs noted on solar aspects but no signs of slab activity.
