East aspects below treeline still have cold, low-density snow from the Dec 14-15 storm. This is sitting on firm and fairly well bonded snow from Thanksgiving and early December. Depth hoar seems like it is gaining strength by the day. Snowmobiles have tested some steep slopes (around 40 degrees) in Barlow Creek with no apparent results.
