Squall midday w S2 snow rates and obscured skies. Another inch or so on top of ~3" in past 24 hours. Winds light, westerly.
Snowpack
New and settled storm snow on surface and near surface. Very soft slab. No whumpfing or cracking.
Avalanche
Crown in Marble Bowl about 500 feet across, extending from Northwoods trees almost to most common entry near where uptrack hits ridge. Seemed to average about 3 feet deep (without storm snow). Bed surface about 20" above ground. Took out most of the season's tracks on the skier's right half+ of the bowl. Debris ran down main gully to 9700 feet - same elevation as old snow stake.
