Snowpack
Wind affected at treeline and above, powder in trees, no whumps, more stable than expected. Noted evidence of settling in trees of approximately 12" at 11-11,500'. No pit dug
Avalanche
Irene's had run, it appears, 1-3 days prior to this observation. Large debris pile at terminus, located near base of gulch at approximately 10,100'. Uppermost crown face between 11,900 and 12,000', approximately 500 feet wide. Ran to a deep layer but not to the ground. Wind loading had covered much of the evidence. Two more crowns at somewhat lower elev on N side of bowl, below point 12,124, can be seen in the photo. Not known if these were sympathy, contemporaneous or separate events.
