Winds were calm with no visible transport on ridgelines. Temperature hovered near 20F through the trip with sunny skies.
Snowpack
2 mm surface hoar has developed on the east and west aspects of the ridge, although the intense sunshine had begun to knock it down on the west side as the afternoon progressed. The top 20 centimeters is snow that fell around Christmas (fist +), sitting on a thin layer of 1.5 mm facets. The mid pack is 0.5 to 1.0 mm facets (4f to 1f) that is resting on a weak 40 centimeters of depth hoar, (fist) ECTN 9 at last weeks storm/ surface interface ECTN 24 at 40 cm from ground depth hoar
