33F by 9am @10,500 with a semi-weak freeze last night. Winds picked up by the lunch hour with increasing mid-level clouds.
Snowpack
Crusted surfaces= 2cm to 5cm thick from East to SE at those lower elevation bands and already softened by 9am. Snowpit #1 East @10,400ft : boot pen 20cm ski 8cm HS 105CM. Fist to 1F- to 1F for 20cm right above the basal 3-5mm rounding facets indicated in this sample. CT14RP, ECTP21 down 58cm (trying to be representative of mid path in Champion group) . Snowpit#2. NE@ 11,100.ft: Boot pen 40 cm. Ski pen8cm. HS 140cm Decomposing 5cm wind crust on the surface CT15 RP, ECTP26. down 30cm. Propagation was slow and "non-energetic" Next discernable layer of concern resides 90cms down. Rounding2-4mm 4F facets, but nothing remarkable with any snowpack tests (including shovel shears) as that layer is recovering nicely and is well concealed with a 20cm layer of pencil hard rounds above.
