Snowpack

We traveled on east to southeast aspects today. Snow depth where we traveled varied from 50cm to well over a meter in areas favored by wind loading. We triggered a whumpf on an east aspect above treeline and found a fairly thick, reactive slab sitting sitting depth hoar. ECTP results at the slab/depth hoar interface. See snowpit profile for more detail. In the Batch Plant highway path near Obellx 2 we found a 50cm deep snowpack that consisted of new snow over an unreactive 4F slab over facets.
