Beautiful bluebird morning with storm totals 18"/1.6" snow water equivalency. Winds were calm during the trip but previous nights northerly winds left many slopes near and above treeline scoured, sculpted and drifted.
Snowpack
Near treeline, 40-50 cm's of new and drifted snow is resting on a buried facet layer, a thin crust can be found on sunny slopes at this interface as well. Extended Column tests produce propagating results with 4-6 taps from the wrist, even after the slope has produced audible whumpfing. Northerly-facing slopes near and above treeline were scoured by overnight winds. Whumpfing was observed on all aspects near treeline and the upper end of the below treelin band
Avalanche
Multiple small cutbank storm slab avalanches along the east side of Wolf Creek Pass, no debris past the bar ditch. Several small storm slab avalanches seen on north facing slopes below treeline west of Treasure Peak
