We dug on an ESE aspect, at 11,490'. HS 102. Slope collapsed as students were half way through digging, sending a shooting crack all the way around the pit. There were many crust-facet layers. The two most notable MF crusts were at 36cm down, and 57 cm down - both pencil-hard. Above and below both crusts was fist-hard facets. I imagine that the collapse while digging out the pit was the upper crust, and the 'exciting' results in the videos below was from the bottom crust. The riding conditions were great - supportable, with 3-4" new, low density on top of temperature crust from prior to Saturday evening's storm. Temperature crust was soft enough.
