Weather
Broken to overcast skies for most of the day. Occasionally gusty winds out of the west with light transport. A short lived period of S1 snowfall around 1500.
Snowpack
I travelled on east to northeast to east aspects below, near, and above treeline. Above treeline on a northeast aspect I found an Hs of around 115cm, with this week's storm snow sitting on a fairly solid snowpack consisting of hard layers of rounded grains. There was one, thin layer of rounding facets sandwiched between harder layers about 70cm from the ground, but it was not reactive in stability tests. See pit profile for more detail. Probing around above treeline, Hs varied from 40cm to 140cm. Near and below treeline, quick observations revealed a more pronounced mid-pack slab over facets under neath recent new snow. Average Hs below treeline was a little over a meter, though deeper drifts could be found. I did not observe any signs of instability in my travels.
