Snowpack
Snow stayed dry on N facing above 12k where we skied. No obvious signs of instability. Solar aspects were warming throughout the day.
Avalanche
From the ridge between Telluride and Ophir I observed 2 avalanches far to the south, below and between Pilot Knob and US Grant peak roughly. They appeared to have broken close to the ground with some dirt visible in at least one spot on the more westerly of the 2 slides. They broke beneath cliff bands on N facing terrain and the one I could see ran maybe 1000 vertical feet. Hard to estimate the size from that distance but I'd say at least D2 for the more western one. I could only see the crown on the eastern slide.
