Weather
The weather was cold when we left the car at 7:30 am - I believe around 7 degrees. It warmed quickly and was very sunny. It was significantly windy.
Avalanche
When we were about 1000 ft below the summit (3/4 of the way up, 11:30am), we noticed a decent sized slide on the main face (around 39.06861, -107.27187). I don’t believe that it was an old slide that we were just noticing because it looked to be still moving and getting larger. NE slope, ~11,600 ft. It appears to be natural as there was no one else skiing in the area. I can’t estimate the size, but it was decently large. We decided to turn around. On the descent, about 1000 ft below where we turned around, we crossed a gully to get away from cliffs, and the gully slid. I’m bad at estimating distances/sizes, but I think that it slid 80-100ft long, and the crown was around 7-10 inches tall and maybe 20ft across. Lat/long of smaller slide - 39.07904, -107.26255. NE slope, ~9,400 ft.
