Ice - The Professor Falls

Quick report
The climb: First 4 pitches were nicely dry. Upper pitches started getting wet starting noticably at the short off vertical flow coming through the narrow notch. The 4th pitch was a bit steep and a little tricky. First party of the day said it took a bit of cleaning. 3rd party bailed from a screw which we the 4th party cleaned for them. A 5th party was also on route so a busy day. Ice fall was reduced because of a little covering of snow on the steps catching some of it but some could make it down further so don't assume you're safe with a party above you. Weather/snow: Temps were cool but reasonable. Sunny most of the day but not on the climb. Winds seemed calm most of the day with no signs of snow transport. Later in the afternoon an increase in winds was noticable. Strong gusty winds stirred up a little snow transport however it didnt seem widespread. Approach: The ploughed road was snow covered and had at least some ice under the snow. Nice and flat for riding a bike. After the fork the unploughed road had a decent bootpack but it was bumpy for riding unless you have a fatbike whose track occasionally didnt use the bootpack. Beyond the kiosk the trail is nicely packed and easy travel.
