We skied into Shangri-la hut for 3 days starting Dec 28-30. Based on the previous group, there was rain in the Alpine on Dec 27 and then snow fall (estimating approx 5 cm) with obvious wind affect in the Alpine with sastrugi and cornice build up. We skied up to Little Shovel Pass following a previous group's track with much of the track being blown in on the 28th. While there is snow in the upper bowls, we kept to the bench to stay away from any potential run out, but didn't feel it was likely. No signs of cracking or whumping. We took a conservative line out as the snow pack is not consolidated and we continuously were breaking through to waist high. Definitely a great day for a tour rather than turns Below the hut, the creek is still open in parts but mostly filled in. Closer to the road, there was much rain affect in the snow and it's almost icy.
