Weather
Cool and sunny. Strong westerly winds at upper elevations. Moderate winds were felt around 9,000 feet along the road grade.
Snowpack
Lots of blowing and drifting snow at upper elevations with long snow plumes off ridgelines and peaks. At times, blowing snow was so intense that a clear view of the slopes was obscured. North to east aspects appear to harbor the deepest and broadest snow cover, while southeast aspects still look thin. Cornices along ridgelines were visible from a distance and are likely growing bigger from recent winds and drifting. We observed extensive surface faceting across various aspects along our travels.
