Weather

Partly cloudy and mild. A few short periods of light snow.

Snowpack

I dug a few quick hand pits on mostly north-facing road banks below treeline. The depth of the snowpack is about 8 to 10 inches. The bottom ~4 inches is faceted and in places moist. The facets were not well developed and they were very small. The top ~4 inches is new snow. A very thin rain or rime crust was found within in the storm snow. The thickness of the crust was about the thickness of cardboard.---Looking up to the ridgeline south of Hagerman Pass, there was very little continuous snow cover.
