Yeah it's still pretty chilly out there... We headed out today to get some observations in mellow alpine terrain. Starting at Tiny Town we went up to Bryant Lake where we assessed ice thickness. We were happy with the result and proceeded up to the notch. Overall conditions are pretty grim. The wind has managed to tickle just about everywhere, aside from pockets of preserved snow in the trees. Above tree line all the snow we found was significantly wind affected. Either stiff windboard or breakable crust. We didn't observe any new avalanche activity. Still watching out for wind slabs. Dense slab on marbles!

Snow was less than 1cm per hour. No blowing snow observed at ridgetop, suspect there is not much left to be transported. Moderate NE winds, gusting strong especially while crossing Bryant Lake. Brrrrr....

We still have 10-20 cm of super stiff wind slab overlaying ~10cm of facets. Below that is a very well consolidated snowpack to ground. No layers of concern below the facets. Snowpack height varies from 50 - 120cm depending on wind exposure.
