Out on route at 8:00 back at truck at 4:00. little to no snow BTL, 30 to 50cm TL, 50 to 140cm ALP. Widespread crust unsupportive to boots but supportive to skis. Difficult travel as walking punched through the crust, while skinning was tricky due to the firm crust. Light dusting made low angle terrain enjoyable. Few pockets of wind slab in alpine.
Snowpack
BTL little to no snow, TL 10-50, ALP 50-150. Dust on crust. Cool clear wx promoting faceting below the crust and eroding it (potential failure plane down the road). Few isolated small pockets of wind slab in alp 5-10 cm deep reactive to ski cutting and sliding easy on crust on slopes above 25 degrees (ie bonding poor to crust). Hazard 1/1/no snow. confidence high. Biggest danger of the day was slipping hazard on the crust.
Avalanche
Old crown lines observed in upper TL below lee convex rolls, debris now frozen after the last rain event thus avalanches are old..
