Avalanche
Observed R3/D2 avalanche triggered by snowboarder approximately 1/2 mile away. Rider went down NE aspect of wind loaded sloped adjacent to other cornices with visible sliding (approximately 11,900 elevation, I was at 11,800). Rider went in a few turns then the slab broke and went down the mountain. Slab slid down quickly and at consistent pace. Fortunately rider was able to stay on top and ride out. Appears to be around 18-24" thick break, but observed from 1/2 mile away.
