Snowpack

as we neared the ridge we saw more cracking in the storm snow, and got some fairly widespread cracking and a small D1 off a ski cut coming off the ridge. There was also a D1.5 (aprox 10-15cm, perhaps within the storm snow) that was triggered sympathetically by another group. We crossed the debris near the "lunch spot", and although visibility was heavily obscured, I'd estimate that the slide slid 50-75 feet. We had some really good turns, and my main impressions had to do with the variability. Some places were nearly bare with that melt-freeze crust near the ground, while other areas near ridge line were in the 100cm neighborhood.
