Snowpack

Snowpack: The new snow from last week became wet to moist up to 12,500 ft. The crusts below remained frozen. The snow was locked down to the old crust; no signs of instabilites in hand pits/ ski cuts. Avalanches. Lots of natural shallow WL at all elevations from yesterday or day before. D1 to 1.5's on E through S through W aspects. Also a few on northerly low elevation slopes. Observed one larger hardslab avalanche involving older snow layers, likely from last week, in Queen Basin on a NE aspect above treeline. (N-HS-R3/D2.5-O). Estimated 300 feet wide, 3 feet deep.
