High temp of 40 down low and 28 up high. West winds gusting into the 30’s kept the snow cooler up high, and a thin re-freeze started at 15:30. Skies cleared by mid day, and high clouds filled back in at 15:30.
Snowpack
3†new dust on crust skied really well. After 11:30 lower elevations became wet and the 4†crust from last night softened. New snow balled up and the crust did not soften on steep West facing slopes. Snow became wet and “trap door†below 11,000’ in the afternoon. New snow got very sticky.
