Wx: Bluebird! A little wind above 10,000ft but otherwise warm and sunny.
Snowpack
Snowpack: Broke trail with ski pen about 10" in an area that saw heavy traffic early season, then continued on up into a basin above 11,000ft. At 10am, the snow on E/NE aspects was getting wet on the surface and only continued with the strong solar radiation. Avy Activity: Small pinwheels and pinpoint slides were seen throughout our tour. We put in a skin track across a few short steep slopes and small windpockets. Skied a number of convex rolls with intermittent cliff bands. Saw no avy activity throughout the tour, other than one tiny skier-triggered pocket maybe 8' wide (and probably 6" deep on average) that ran all of 10 feet, triggered coming over a wind-loaded roller. One collapse in flat terrain. On the way out to the sled, skis were glopping up. Welcome to Spring!
