Weather

There was a bit of a ceiling, with just a little sunshine and no wind.

Snowpack

The snowpack was soft powder underneath with just a tiny bit of crust on the top.

Avalanche

The snow in the second small gully we came to broke loose as a wide slab and slipped in large chunks about 30 feet down and toward the east, at ~12,150. After the slide, we noticed a bit of a lip that appeared to have been holding the snow. You can see this gully and the lip plainly in picture number four from the 14ers.com route description. http://www.14ers.com/routemain.php?route=sher3&peak=Mt.+Sherman
