Weather

Sunny and warming from about 8ºF two hours earlier. Slide released around 10:30 am.

Snowpack

Several inches new snow on top of sun affected crust over the persistent weak layer about 18" down.

Avalanche

May have been remotely triggered after a skier dropped the line as we saw tracks into and out of the slide area with debris over top of them, but there was no one involved and they may even have been unaware that it happened since they were no longer around.
