Weather

Obscured skies with steady light snow during the morning hours. Skies became overcast and snow stopped by 11:30 am. Cold temps at treeline. Ridge top winds west and southwest. Light wind loading.

Snowpack

About 6cm of new snow at the trailhead. Start zones near treeline had up to 20 cm new. Upper snowpack had only a shallow freeze up to about 10,500 ft in elevation. 30-50 cm of wet grains observed below the thin surface crust and new snow. Stronger mid and lower snowpack below these wet grains. Southwest to west winds near treeline resulted in light blowing snow this morning. Evidence of some loading and strong westerly winds from Thursday evening as well.
