Snowpack

Began descent off Sockrider Peak following a line where snow appeared to be of lower depth due to melting. (choosen because snow was rapidly warming and seemed suspicious) I was in for approximately 200 feet when the convex slope to my right ripped out to the ground leaving a 1.5 to 3 foot crown across the ridge going south. Slowly slid for a good 600 to 800 feet, gutting out the lower angled runout (crown of up to 4-5 ft). Later in the day I looked back up to the area where the slide had occurred (with binoculars from Rico) and it had slid all the way over into Elliot after we had left the area. Big slide...be careful
