we observed several gully avalanches in lincoln creek that had naturally triggered Sunday or yesterday. Most were in the chutes on the NE side of the road before the reservoir. S to SW aspect. large- running more than 300 ft. 2 had crossed the road. There was one above treeline near the NY peak area visible from the road. We also heard what sounded like 2 triggers in the distance within a 20 minute period- one west of us and one south. we did not locate these. In the independence pass area, we saw a large avalanche that naturally triggered during the same time period. It is located just before the upper lost man trailhead. it also traveled more than 300 ft and crossed the road. on a E-SE aspect. otherwise, we saw no other avalanches in the I-Pass area. almost all of these avalanches started at or near treeline and traveled well below treeline. we also observed where a small pocket had slid along the road near Indepedence, also on a S to SW aspct. probably 20by 40 ft slump. well below treeline; 10000 ft.
