Snowpack

Wind moved a lot of snow during past 24 hours, primarily onto E-S aspects. Went rooting around in the top of Thurmond's Bowl, S aspect, off the backside of the hiking terrain up to East Wall. HS varied from 0 to more than 300 cm (buried my probe without hitting ground). Surface snow was a mixed bag of 1F wind slab, sastrugi, and smaller areas of wind blown facets. Wind slab was 20cm deep, on top of 4F softer snow, and then stout melt-freeze crust 60cm down. This top layer sheared pretty easily, but minimal propagation. Seemed like it would be difficult to disturb anything below the MF crust.
