Weather
Fair and cold, no wind.
Snowpack
Very thin in most places, with spotty deep drifts around boulders and in low lying area. Dug a pit in one of those, to 102 cm; east-northeast aspect. Approx 2 cm wind slab on surface, then well consolidated snow (1-2 finger) down to 37 cm. At that level, encountered a 3 cm layer of ice. Four finger snow down to 52 cm, then a thick (20 cm) layer of ice. Depth hoar from 72 cm to ground. Extended column test resulted in full propagation and settling at tap # 16, but no slide through tap #30. However, slope angle was only 25 degrees.
