Snowpack

After Observing a snow pit made on the western slopes just at tree line with a slope angle of 28-31 degrees. Observations concluded the following. 3 distinct layers. Bottom layer 2-3" of faceted snow, second layer 3-4" of compact snow and top layer 8-10" of low density storm snow. While skining fractures occurred in areas of wind blown snow. Consistent whumpfing throughout skinning. Consistent wind has also caused top .5" of top layer to create a light crust. With additional snow in forecast...not looking good.
