Intermittent sun, clouds, and graupel. Light to moderate west winds.
Snowpack
Spring snowpack up to around 11,500. Above 11,500 3-5 inches of new wind drifted snow and graupel.
Avalanche
WS-NC-R2-D2-O Unsure of date. Large cornice collapse on the south face of Hallet Peak ran approximately 800 feet and triggered a shallow wet slab avalanche on a SE facing slope at approximately 11,000. Crown was very sun affected, difficult to determine the original height. Debris ran another 800 feet into the boulders below, mixed with large chunks of cornice. I was able to catch a brief glimpse of the area that had collapsed; it was about the size of a small bus.
